Match funding: Neil Adams

09 Sep 2023

Alongside his eldest daughter, Neil completed a charity skate from Bath to Bristol, raising £260 for Macmillan cancer support.

In over 30 degree heat, between 50 and 100 skaters completed the 16.7 mile distance, starting in Green Park, Bath, following the canal-side path (trying not to lose any boards in the water!), before picking up the old railway line towards Bristol.

A few miles in, the first stop for refreshments was made, before passing the halfway mark for the obligatory signpost photo!

The final stop prior to heading to Templemeads station to catch the train back to Bath was at Vandem board shop for the raffle.  As always, this was loaded with goodies donated by leading skate brands and the ticket sales raised a considerable amount for Charity, alongside the sponsorship already received.

The total amount raised for Macmillan was well over £3000, with Kier match funding the £130 raised by Neil, raising the total to £260.

Neil said, "It's great that Kier offer match funding through the Kier foundation, it motivates me to try harder with my fund raising so I can get the most from match funding and provide that additional benefit to my chosen charity. If you have more than one Kier member in your team you are each eligible for funding so this can help raise even more money for good causes"
